A woman was flown to a trauma center with potentially life-threatening injuries after her car rear-ended by a tractor trailer in Martin County early Wednesday morning, according to Sheriff's deputies. The crash occurred at the intersection of Kanner Highway and Salerno Road about 9:50 a.m. The woman was flown to a trauma center in serious condition.

The woman was pinned to the tractor trailer and it took fire rescue crews about 40 minutes to extract her from the gold-colored vehicle, Bureau Chief Jon Belding said.
