Two Saved in Tallahassee Car Accident

A Saturday morning car accident in Tallahassee almost claimed the lives of two people. They were saved from their burning car by some good samaritans. The accident happened at the intersection of Apalachee and South Magnolia Drive. A car and an SUV collided.

Moore and her husband, Dr. Mark Moore, an anesthesiologist at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, were waiting to turn left onto Apalachee from South Magnolia Drive about 10 a.m. when they witnessed a car and an SUV crash. The car burst into flames on impact.

"It was kind of surreal," said Lisa Moore, who dialed 911. Mark Moore, who spent two years working in an emergency room in the late 1980s, put his car in park and ran to the burning car. He and a young man who ran from another direction helped pull the woman from the passenger seat.

It took the Tallahassee Fire Department at least three minutes to arrive. The car was completely on fire at that point. The police department is still investigating the accident. It is unknow if anyone else was injured.
